I was then sent to a page with prices to use the site. As I didn't want to pay to join the site, I closed the browser tab and continued my search on Google. Today I check my email and I see an email from Angie's List, that was sent to me yesterday. Strange, right? I didn't sign up yesterday, so why am I getting this email from them? I open the email and in the email it says:
We noticed you recently stopped by Angie's List. Thank you for visiting!
We hope you found the information you were looking for. If not, please reply to this email and let us know.
You're also invited to come back and use promo code REVIEWS30 and receive 30% off your membership.

So now I may be on their email list but I never signed up or wanted any emails from them. I never gave permission for this to happen. This is not cool and something that shouldn't happen. Not cool Angie's List, not cool at all.
Anyways, it looks like Angie's List isn't the most trustworthy site out there, read the Time.com article: Why Angie’s List Keeps Getting Mixed Reviews.
