The Walking Dead Season 2 episode 7

Sunday night had the mid-season finale of season 2 of The Walking Dead and wow what an ending. The episode was named "Pretty Much Dead Already" and we finally get to see what happened to Sophia. *Spoiler alert* Do not read on if you have not watched the mid-season finale yet.

Here's a quick summary of what happened in the episode. Glenn tells the group that the barn is full of walkers. They check out the barn and Shane wants to kill all of the walkers, but Rick wants to talk with Hershel first before clearing the barn. The group has an argument about staying or leaving the farm.

Dale tries to warn Andrea about Shane but she doesn't listen and tends to agree with the way Shane is handling things. Rick tries to talk with Hershel but Hershel wants them to leave the farm by the end of the week. Rick tells Shane that Lori is pregnant and Shane tells Rick that they need their guns.

Shane talks with Lori about her being pregnant and Lori makes it clear that the baby will never be his, even if it really is. Shane walks off as that seemed to really upset him. After talking with Carl, Shane tries to find the guns in the RV but Dale has taken them to try and hide or get rid of them (I don't get this myself, maybe Dale thinks he's protecting the group from Shane as he is losing it). Shane finds Dale in the swamp and demands his guns back. Dale puts his rifle up saying that he will shoot Shane. Shane steps right up against the rifle and Dale can't shoot him. Dale says, "This world, this is where you belong."

Hershel asks Rick to help him and Jimmy with something. They go into the swamp and find two walkers stuck in mud. They use those animal rescue neck grabbing poles to lead them to the farm.

Shane brings back the guns to the farm house and starts handing them out, wanting everyone to join him take care of the walkers in the barn. T-Dog and the others see Rick and Hershel with the two walkers as they try to bring them to the barn. The group runs out to the barn and Shane is pissed off and losing it. He kills the walker that Hershel had restrained and then opens up the barn door. Shane, Andrea, T-Dog, Daryl and finally Glenn line up and shoot the walkers that come out of the barn. Shane also shoots the walker that Rick had restrained.

After they finish shooting all of the walkers that came out of the barn, one more slowly steps out, and it's Sophia. Sophia is now a walker. Carol runs toward Sophia but Daryl grabs her and they fall to the ground as she cries. Rick steps forward and shoots Sophia. And that is how the finale ends.

The Walking Dead season 2 episode 6

Episode 6, "Secrets" of season 2 of The Walking Dead on Sunday night was a good one that leaves us viewers hanging and having to wait until next week's "mid-season finale" to find out what happens next. And yes, next week's episode is the last one for a while. I don't know when the show will return but I'm going to guess in January maybe? Update: Someone's comment on the site said the show will return February 12th. That is a long time from now until then.

So here's the quick recap of episode 6. *Spoiler alert*

Patricia brings chickens to the barn to feed them to the walkers that are being kept in there. The group goes to practice shooting a gun, even Carl is practicing, after getting caught taking a hand gun from the van. Dale and Glenn stay behind and Glenn tells Dale that the barn is full of walkers and Lori is pregnant. Dale talks with Hershel about the walkers in the barn. Hershel think that the walkers are still people, which includes his wife and step-son.

Shane tries to teach Andrea how to shoot under pressure but goes too far by bringing up her dead sister Amy. Shane and Andrea then go look for Sophia in a deserted-looking residential neighborhood. Dale talks with Lori about her pregnancy. Maggie and Glenn go to the town pharmacy again trying to find some things Lori wanted. Maggie is grabbed by a walker and Glenn saves her. Maggie and Glenn return and Maggie is upset at Lori because they almost died getting Lori "morning after" pills.

Shane and Lori don't find Sophia and find themselves getting surrounded by walkers. They shoot and kill some, Andrea looks like she's a natural now, and they get in the car and drive off. On the drive back, Shane and Andrea stop and get busy. Lori takes the pills but then makes herself throw them up. Shane and Andrea return to the farmhouse and Dale sees them look at each other. Dale confronts Shane alone and says that he thinks he should leave. He says he's looking out for the group and he knows something happened with Otis and he remembered seeing Shane aiming his gun at Rick back in Atlanta, and says, "I know what kind of man you are." Shane replies by saying Rick is his best friend and basically says if you think I could shoot my best friend then what do you think I could do to someone I don't like who is throwing accusations at me. Shane gives Dale a scary look and smirk. Dale looks a little worried and gives the look like "wow Shane really is crazy."

Rick finds the morning after packets, finds Lori and they talk about it. During their talk Rick asks if there is anything else he should know and she says "Shane and I" and pauses. Rick says, "I know. You thought I was dead, right?" Lori nods and cries.

Recap video
So now all of the secrets are out and in next week's episode it looks like Shane is trying to take charge and wants to take out the walkers in the barn. Next week's episode should be good, as it's the mid-season finale, so will the group be forced to leave the farm? Will they finally find Sophia?

Max Payne 3 mechanics and features

The upcoming new Max Payne 3 game looks really good and here's a video I found online where they talk about the mechanics of the game and some of the features. I'm always interested in how video games are made. The video has some graphic footage so don't watch if you're under 18. The game is scheduled to be released in March 2012.

The video above is the first one in Rockstar's new Design and Technology series, which takes a behind-the-scenes look at the mechanics of how its top tier games are made. The video explains some of the gameplay features such as motion capture, enemy A.I. and the trademark bullet time effects. It is a Rockstar-produced video so the content is a little self-congratulatory but the video does do a great job of showcasing some new in-game footage with a glimpse of how the sausage was made.

The Walking Dead season 2 episode 5

Episode 5, "Chupacabra" of season 2 of The Walking Dead was on Sunday night and I found it to be another slow episode until the end of course. So here's the quick recap of episode 5. *Spoiler alert*

The episode starts out showing a flashback of the start of the zombie apocalypse with human survivors, where Shane, Lori, Carl, Carol, Sophia and the abusive husband Ed all stuck on the highway in a car jam. Shane and Lori walk up the road to try and see what's going on. They see military helicopters bombing the city.

It comes back to the present. Some of the survivors head out in 2-person groups still searching for Sophia. Rick and Shane are one small group and along their search they talk. Shane wants to stop searching and leave while Rick wants to find Sophia.

Daryl searches on his own while riding a horse. He finds Sophia's doll but not Sophia. As he moves on, a snake scares the horse and it throws Daryl off and into a ravine. One of his arrows goes straight through his side. He gets up and tries climbing toward a ridge but slips and falls. Daryl has a dream or something with his brother, Merle, talking to him, mostly mocking him and trying to turn him against the group. It could be Merle's spirit or something if Merle did die or it could just be Daryl's own mind talking to himself using Merle's image. Daryl wakes up to find a walker trying to bite his boots. Daryl kills the two zombies and then a squirrel for food.

Daryl climbs the ravine again and reaches the top. During his climb, Merle appears again and talks more to him. Daryl finally reaches the top. He finds his way back to the farmhouse coming from the forest. Andrea spots him with a rifle and alerts the group it's a walker as Daryl is limping, dirty and has blood on him. Rick tells Andrea not to shoot. Rick, Shane, T-Dog and Glenn run towards Daryl thinking he's a walker. When they reach him they realize it's Daryl and not a walker. For whatever reason Andrea shoots and the bullet grazes the side of Daryl's head. Hershel helps patch up Daryl.

They have a dinner all together. Maggie and Glenn exchange notes on a piece of paper while at the "kids table." They want to meet up again. After dinner Maggie reads the note and Glenn said to meet in the barn. Glenn climbs up into the barn and finds that the lower part of the barn is full of walkers. Maggie runs to the barn and meets Glenn at the window where he got in as he's trying to get out as fast as possible. Maggie says, "You weren't supposed to see this."

American Reunion movie trailer

It looks like the crew from the first American Pie movie is getting back together to make one last movie, named American Reunion. Watch the trailer below. From the trailer it doesn't look all that interesting, just more of the same. What do you think?

The Walking Dead season 2 episode 4

Episode 4 "Cherokee Rose" of season 2 of The Walking Dead was on Sunday night and it was rather a slow episode. **Spoiler alert!** Do not read on if you haven't watched it yet.

In this episode, the survivors from the highway join the others at the farm house. They have a funeral service for Otis and Shane is asked to speak on his last moments. Here's where Shane's story could get messy. Shane says that he and Otis were both down to pistols, he says that Otis gave him his bag and told him to go on and he'll cover the rear. Shane then says he looked back and Otis was killed. Cover the rear? Rear of what? Cover him? With one bullet?

Lori tells Shane she wants him to stay. Hershel wants Rick and his crew to leave once his son is better. Before Glenn and Maggie leave to go to the pharmacy, Lori writes down something for him to get for her, a pregnancy test. Dale and T-Dog go to get some water from the well but they find a walker down in the well. Others from the group come to see and they decide to try and pull the walker out so it doesn't further infect the water. The water was being used by the farm animals right? They try and bait the walker with canned ham but it doesn't respond to it. So Glenn goes down and he is almost dropped down, but somehow manages to get the rope around the walker's neck. Glenn is brought back up and then they pull up the walker. But the walker tears in half and his lower half falls down into the well. T-Dog then kills the upper part of it.

Hershel and Rick have a chat about God. Daryl goes looking for Sophia and does not find her still. He finds a house with a recently opened can of sardines and a blanket and pillow. On the highway they leave a note and food for Sophia in case she returns there. Glenn and Maggie get closer in the pharmacy. Rick puts his badge in a drawer, maybe realizing he isn't a police officer anymore in this world. Lori goes outside and takes the pregnancy test and it's positive. She looks upset and we have to ask who's the father?

Half-Life 2 mod: No More Room in Hell

A new Half-Life 2 mod is in beta, named No More Room in Hell which is a zombie survival game. The game play looks ok, I might try and check it out if I get some free time. Has anyone played this? If you have leave a comment and let us know what you think about it.

The Half-Life 2 mod is a multiplayer focused zombie survival game powered by Valve's Source engine, and there will no doubt be comparisons to Left 4 Dead. But this is a zombie survival game, not so much a zombie shooter like L4D and L4D2.

Grand Theft Auto V video trailer

A new Grand Theft Auto game is in the works, Grand Theft Auto V, and below is the trailer for it. The graphics look great in the video. The basic idea of the story, as far as the voice talking during the trailer, seems to be a guy trying to get away from doing bad things and wanting to "settle down" but it looks like you'll be doing some bad things in the game. I haven't heard what the actual story details of the game yet but I'll post them when I do. The game will have a Los Santos/Los Angeles setting and it will have online multi-player feature.
